Governor Agbu Kefas, through Deputy Governor Aminu Abdullahi Alkali, has reaffirmed his administration's unwavering commitment to enhancing the agricultural sector. This declaration was made during this year's Santii festival held in Pantisawa.
Governor Kefas emphasized the wealth of fertile land in Taraba State, which presents an immense opportunity for farmers to increase food production. He expressed the government's determination to continuously provide necessary agricultural inputs to empower farmers and ensure optimal yields.
The Governor applauded the organizers of the Santii festival, noting that it goes beyond the celebration of the new yam harvest. He highlighted its significance as a platform to foster love, unity, and peace throughout the state.
Acknowledging the security challenges faced by farmers, Governor Kefas assured the community that the government is diligently working to address these concerns, aiming to make them a thing of the past.
Additionally, Joseph Kassong Kannon, the Member representing Yorro State Constituency, called on the government to provide yam processing machines to the Yorro local government area. He stressed that Mumuye-produced yams are renowned for their quality worldwide, underscoring the need for government support to maximize the region's agricultural potential and bolster the state's revenue base.
The commitment of Governor Kefas to agricultural development, as demonstrated during the Santii festival, holds the promise of a more prosperous and secure agricultural future for Taraba State.
