I am a PDP card-carrying member, Peter Shanwun fires back .

The conscious candidate of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, for the Ussa local government area  Peter Shanwun, has debunked the rumor that he is not a  PDP card-carrying member.

In an interview in Jalingo, Peter Shanwun said he has been a card-carrying member of the PDP since twenty twenty-two and has not decamped to any party since then.

He said the photos of him and APC stakeholders circulating on social media were taken in June when stakeholders visited Abuja and have nothing personal or party affiliations.

Shanwun further disclosed that he has never been an APC member but a card-carrying member of the PDP. 

Peter Shanwun called on the people of Ussa to disregard the rumor as it is mere propaganda geared towards spoiling his political ambition in the forthcoming local government elections on the 18th of this month.

The candidate came under heavy criticism after he was shortlisted as the consensus candidate of the party, his photos and stalwarts of the APC were seen on social media.

Some aggrieved members of the PDP in the council tagged his emergency as an injustice to the dedicated members calling for his substitution.
