The Taraba State Government has donated relief materials to flood victims in Gassol, Karim Lamido, Lau, Yorro, and Ardo-Kola local government areas.
The items donated include bags of rice, cartons of spaghetti, clothing, and mats among others.
Presenting the materials on behalf of the state government, a representative from the Ministry of Special Duties and Social Services, Lawan Arabi said the Taraba state government deemed it fit to provide the relief materials to cushion the effect of the flood disaster which affected the area recently.
He charged the Head of Local Government Administration HOLGA in affected areas to ensure that the items were given to the right people.
Receiving the items on behalf of the victims the Head of Local Government Administration HOLGA, Gassol local government council, Usman Rabiu Rufai appreciated the state government for providing the relief materials and added that it will go a long way to cushion their hardship.
He said sadly flood has become a routine and called on the government to find a lasting solution to the challenge by constructing a mini Dam to avert its occurrence.
Commenting, a beneficiary from the Sandride community in Gassol Local Government Area Nura Tanko said their community has never tested the impact of government and applauded Governor Agbu Kefas for coming to their aid.
