Ten people have been killed by bandits in Jenuwa Nyitsu, Yangtu Special Development Area of the state.
The Coordinator of Yangtu Special Development Area Emmanuel Madaki confirmed the killing to our Takum Zonal correspondent.
Madaki said the unfortunate event took place early hours of yesterday when the victims were heading to their farms.
The Yangtu coordinator said despite the Peace Accord that was signed by both farmers and herders to cease fire for peace to reign, there was always unwanton killing of farmers in their farms.
Emmanuel Madaki expressed worrisome faulted the resurgence of killings in the area as a result of headers refusing to honor the agreement signed sometime back for them to vacate the area during the rainy season and return during the dry season.
The Coordinator of Yangtu Special Development Area Emmanuel Madaki appealed to the state Governor Doctor Agbu Kefas to consider the plights faced by his people and nip the unwarranted situation in the bud.
The State Police Command PPRO DSP Abdullahi Usman who also confirmed the incident said the joint patrol of security compromised of Police, mobile police and the 93 battalion army have since been deployed to the scene.
He noted that the security agencies are doing their best to sustain peace in the area.
