A two-day workshop organized by the non-governmental organization known as the Foundation for Peace, Hope, and Conflict Management at Federal University Wukari has successfully concluded.
The workshop aimed to promote peace among individuals from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds in higher education, fostering an environment conducive to teaching and learning.
Reverend Father Anthony Bature, the Executive Director of the foundation, stated during the workshop's opening that education isn't merely about knowledge but also about living in a peaceful, civilized environment.
He encouraged participants to take full advantage of the seminar and discouraged hate speech to promote peaceful coexistence in the institution.
Dr. Raymond Enoch presented a paper on the critical analysis of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms and their effectiveness among youth in tertiary institutions, advocating for the establishment of ADR desks in Nigerian tertiary institutions.
Other speakers encouraged youth to consider peace, unity, and patience as the foundation for harmonious and effective governance in educational institutions.
A highlight of the workshop was the establishment of a peace club at Federal University Wukari and the presentation of certificates to participants.
