By Zupai Ibrahim

General Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa, Chairman of the Special Taskforce Committee on Environmental Protection, Public Safety, and Prohibition of Deforestation, has declared the end of the era of illegal mining in the state.

He made this statement during a visit to the palace of Gangwari Dakka Aliyu Yusuf Manga in Dakka, Bali Local Government Area, seeking support to eliminate illegal mining and deforestation in the region.

General Faransa expressed concern that many mining companies operating in the state have failed to meet their corporate social responsibility standards.

He announced that the government would soon issue guidelines for revenue collection from mining and wood logging to promote the state's growth, emphasizing the link between insecurity and illegal mining.

General Faransa stressed the importance of stopping all forms of illegality related to mining and deforestation, and he encouraged tree-planting campaigns to protect the environment from ecological damage.

Responding, Gangwari Dakka HRH Alh Aliyu Yusuf Manga praised Governor Agbu Kefas for establishing the specific forces, highlighting the positive changes brought by the governor, including free education from primary to secondary and improved security in the state.
