Police confirm electrocution of four family members in Taraba.

The Taraba State Police command in on Monday, confirmed the electrocution of a family of four in the State.
It was gathered that the four persons were burnt to death following a power surge.
The incident took place at Dinyavoh in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.
The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), SP Abdullahi Usman confirmed the incident in a statement.
Usman disclosed that the electrocuted family comprised of father, mother and two children while the last child was the only survivor of the family.
The PPRO said the case was reported at GRA Division of the command on Monday at about 1100 hours by a neighborhood from Dinyavoh
"At about 1100 hours information received from reliable source, revealed that a house located at Dinyavoh area of Jalingo is on fire, detectives from GRA Division Taraba State command were deployed to the scene, on arrival it was discovered that a family of four (4) were lying with burns all over their body suspected to be electrocution.
"The victims are Mr Redmond Ofonbuk male 44 years old, Ofonbong Redmond female, Heaven Redmond male 15 years, First Redmond female 13 years old.
"Information has it that as PHCN brought light, transformer of the area blows and many houses within the neighborhood experienced high electric voltage, led to fire out break as a result inflicting burns on the victims.
"However, Detectives evacuated the victims to FMC Jalingo for treatment, they were confirmed dead by the medical doctor at the FMC, corpse deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy." He said.
Abdullahi however assured residents that, investigation has commenced to ascertain the real cause of the incident.
