Adhere to safety rules even when no one is watching, Taraba FRSC warns drivers.

The Taraba state Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC Abdumalik Dama Bello says the command has since commenced sensitization on this year's ember months.

In an interview with our reporter in Jalingo, the sector commander said the Sensitization campaign which started in September was part of the lineup of activities for this year's campaign.

Abdumalik Bello said ember months are a period that has a series of activities such as harvest, festivals, and ceremonies as such people travel a lot and accidents are bound to happen.

He noted that vehicular movements, at this period, were characterized by speedy and reckless driving coupled with the poor state of the roads as some of the factors responsible for road crashes.

The sector commander also mentioned that this year's Sensitization theme; "Speed Thrills, But It Kills"  was born out of a dire need to curb the rate of untimely death caused by reckless driving.

Abdumalik expressed satisfaction with cooperation from the officers of the command and the collaboration of stakeholders in the state since he assumed office as the Sector Commander in Jalingo.

Bello further advised the road users and the public to assist the FRSC in reducing avoidable road accidents by strictly adhering to traffic rules even when no one is watching.
